The PCA9685 is an I²C-bus controlled 16-channel, 12-bit PWM controller commonly used for driving LEDs and servos. It operates from 2.3V to 5.5V and generates accurate PWM signals with 4096 steps per channel, freeing the host microcontroller from PWM timing tasks. Up to 62 devices can share the same I²C bus using programmable address pins, making it ideal for robotics, RGB lighting, and automation projects where multiple outputs need precise, independent control.
